Monthly Rental Charges
From April 2011 all rental and service charges are payable monthly in advance. Every tenant was consulted and were quite happy with this change reflecting the way many of our customers are paid.
Accurate rental statements and many payment options are available to all paying customers such as
· By Debit/Credit card over the phone during office hours.
· Payment in person by cash/cheque/debit or credit card.
· By Bank standing order contact the office for details.
· We are developing an online payment system at present however this
is not available.
Making Rent a priority – you can lose your home
As times get difficult it is even more important to make your rent a priority. Regrettably we have had no option in the last few months but to evict several families from their home. This can be avoided by paying your rent on time.
It may be that you are entitled to some benefits and we have a dedicated Money Advice Worker, Claire Findlay, who can offer confidential assistance to all our tenants.
Demand for housing is at a record high in Perth & Kinross and non-payment of rental charges penalises all our good tenants.
2011 will see recovery actions being pursued robustly and a hard line will be taken on non-payment. Tenants in arrears are also excluded from Capital Improvement Projects such as new bathrooms and kitchens and may only be offered a minimal repairs service.
